Progress towards all forever

Water For People began working in 2007 in Cuchumuela with the goal of providing water, sanitation and hygiene services to everyone, and ensuring that those solutions last forever. We spent years, not days, working in the communities of Cuchumuela until every family, health center and public school enjoyed safe and reliable water and sanitation services. Planning from the peasant communities to the Municipal Government, involving civil society organizations in the design of their own destiny, has allowed us to implement a realistic plan to achieve permanent change in Cuchumuela, which has involved working with the communities, train local workers to build sustainable systems.

The protagonists of their own story

We are proud of Cuchumuela and its population, who are the protagonists of this successful story.

Through plans with the municipal government, collaboration with organizations and an unwavering commitment to its community, Cuchumuela has achieved notable success.

Together we have ensured that all health centers, schools and 207 families have clean water in their homes and we have ensured that these solutions will be available for generations to come.

AND NOW THAT?

It's time to celebrate and share what we have learned with the world. There is no time to lose! In less than 10 years we must guarantee that everyone in the world has access to permanent and safe water, sanitation and hygiene services, and thus achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6).

Destination 2030 It is the shared vision and strategy of how we will work so that everyone has access to drinking water and sanitation services at the community and national level. For everyone, forever.
