Sustainability is the essence of our mission, that is why we work together with communities, companies and local governments for a Bolivia, where everyone has drinking water, decent bathrooms and good hygiene practices.<\/p>\t\t\n\t\t<h1>\n\t\t\tOur <strong>History<\/strong>\n\t\t<\/h1>\n\t\t\t<p>In Bolivia, as in other countries in Latin America and the world, access to drinking water service, decent sanitation and hygiene is a desire. In Bolivia, 31 out of every 100 people in rural areas do not have access to drinking water service and 55 out of every 100 people do not have access to a bathroom. In 1997, Water For People began its first program in South America in Bolivia, focusing on the rural municipalities of Cochabamba, La Paz, Oruro, Potos\u00ed, Chuquisaca and Santa Cruz. In 2006 , Water For People begins to implement its work model in <strong>Total Coverage\u2022Forever<\/strong>, for which it establishes medium and long-term alliances with the municipalities of Cuchumuela in Cochabamba and San Pedro in Santa Cruz.
